Anyone Can Learn to Build Pedals. I Guarantee It.

Most guitar players who want to build pedals hit the same wall.
Brian Wampler

They buy a soldering iron and a kit. They pull up a YouTube video or crack open an electronics book. And within minutes, their eyes glaze over.

"Maybe I'm just not smart enough for this."

Here's the truth: You're plenty smart. The problem isn't you - it's how pedal building is usually taught.

Most resources assume you already know what a schematic means. Or they drown you in engineering formulas you'll never actually use. Or they throw you into the deep end with zero guidance on what to do when something doesn't work.

That's not how real learning happens.

Years ago, before Wampler Pedals existed, I was just a weekend guitar player who didn't know the difference between a resistor and a capacitor. But I was obsessed with getting that sound... the one stuck in my head that no pedal on the market could quite nail.

So I started digging into circuits, asking questions on forums, and feeling like an idiot half the time.

Then one night, staring at a desk covered in schematics, I noticed something: the same little sections kept showing up in different pedals. Like Lego blocks. Each one doing a specific job.

That realization changed everything.

Suddenly, schematics weren't hieroglyphics anymore. They were just... building blocks. And once I understood that, I could design any sound I wanted.

That "circuit blocks" approach became the foundation of everything we built at Wampler Pedals. Hundreds of thousands of pedals sold using the basis of that exact same system I discovered that night.

And now? I've distilled decades of hands-on experience - building pedals for some of the world's best players, running a pedal company, and teaching thousands of students - into courses that assume zero prior knowledge.

No gatekeepers. No unnecessary math. No making you feel stupid for asking questions.

Just clear, step-by-step guidance that takes you from "I don't know where to start" to "I just built a working circuit that sounds incredible."

You'll learn how to read schematics, understand what each component actually does to your tone, and gain the confidence to experiment without fear of breaking anything.

Whether you're looking to save money, customize your rig, or finally create the sound you've always heard in your head - you'll find everything you need right here.

"Now I Build My Own Pedals."

That's the moment everything changes. When you plug in a circuit you designed with your own hands and hear it come to life for the first time.

Over 3,000 students have experienced that breakthrough - going from intimidated beginner to confident pedal builder. Here's what they're saying.

I cannot explain how much this course did for me

I’m 72 years old, slept through electronics in high school and later kind of felt like was missing out on something. Schematics were Sanskrit to me. I started building kits and realized the schematics were useless to me if I had a problem.

I saw a Facebook ad for Brian’s course and figured I’d give it a shot. What I have learned from his engaging and highly informative course cannot be overstated. I now design and build my my own pedals from what Brian has taught me.

I would pay for the pedals I’ve built. Highly recommended. Mores please

Total confidence boost

I have built numerous pedals in the past from kits and while cool I still had no idea what was going on—basically painting with numbers. You simply find 'R19' on the parts list and plug that value into the board and solder it in, learning nothing about why or how the part or value affects anything. Schematics still resembled cave paintings to me and troubleshooting was a nightmare when a build was finished and something was wrong. Long winded but if you happen to be a Tinkerer and want to know why something ticks I cannot recommend this course enough. Well done Brian W.!

Pedal Building Made Accessible

This course is pure gold. Brian's casual and conversational style combined with his 'Lego block' approach made me feel like I can do this. In the past, I've worked through multiple books on the topic, but always hit a brick wall. This course not only breaks down those barriers, but Brian also shares little nuggets of wisdom throughout on how to tinker and experiment with the designs. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to get into pedal building.

This course is for you

Think you can't build an electric guitar pedal? This course will have you breadboarding real working circuits. Brian and team are there for you to excel in guitar pedal building. I thought I had a real good understanding of guitar pedals, after getting into the course I realized I don't. I think everyone that wants to improve their knowledge of pedal circuits will get a lot out of the course. Enjoyed it.

Worth every penny

As an EE student, I had doubts about this course because I figured I could easily find this information online by searching through forums. Little did I know the specific details and knowledge I would gain from Brian through his experience in this field. That's what you're paying for, and it is sooo worth it. Took the information from this course, expanded on it, and I'm working on my own overdrive design. Could not have been done without this course.

Go beyond the kits

My goal in taking Brian's course was to go beyond assembling kits. I wanted to be able to understand what the pieces were doing together, whether I was looking at the schematic or the circuit board, and change things if I wanted to. I can say this course went above and beyond that for me and I have already begun designing some circuits myself, and have modded a few friends pedals. If you are at all interested in what's going on under the hood of your pedals, I highly recommend this course.
